Birthday time and the goods.
Jan. 28th, 2012 04:36 amSo yeah, I spent my birthday at Dave and Buster (which is best described as a Chuck E Cheese for adults). I had a blast and got some stuff for my birthday.
After eating (went with some ribs there), I played some of the games. One highlight was actually playing a Mario Kart Arcade machine, since I never got to play one of them (then again, good luck finding an F-Zero AX machine, since I hear that's harder to find). I went and played as Pac-Man (both Mario Kart arcade games were Nintendo and Namco collaborations) when I got on. What's funny is that C ended up playing as the Tamagotchi character and took a while to get what the heck he was playing as (the second one was made after Namco and Bandai merged, hence the Tamagotchi character was there). He kept winning and remarks I made about J and me were about getting our butts beaten by a 90s fad. I'm glad I got a chance to play one of the arcade Mario Kart games.
They had some retro stuff there and the original Pac-Man I did okay, though whoever had the high score there made me realize I am not Billy Mitchell. Then again, I go playing Donkey Kong and I must be having a bad day because I really bombed on playing that.
They had one of those multi-classic game machine and I ended up getting into too much old school Street Fighter II (I think it was Championship Edition since I was able to play as the bosses but the speed did not feel like turbo). I kept fighting the same person over and over again with Guile that my wrist even hurt (and I think I had some sort of stomach ache from the tense matches).
Before leaving, we also got to play this Pac-Man Battle Royale game where 4 players had to stay alive and not get caught by a ghost or eaten by the other Pac-Man. It was certainly interesting.
So yeah, great time!
As for some goods I got this birthday:

I forgot to put in Bioshock 2 on Xbox 360 here since I got too focused on these since these games were put in the bag when my parents went home (my sister gave me the bag when I got to her place). I wanted that particular bag because of how it is designed specifically for carrying an arcade stick.

As I show with my PS3 stick here, the cover actually has padding in it and a hole for the stick to rest in. When I was at EVO last year, when my sister and I were packing, including the arcade stick, the hard part about packing the arcade stick would be that the stick is sticking out and can't exactly stack anything on it. We had to put a lot of padding on it so that we can stack stuff on top of it while in the bag we were using. This will make carrying the stick less of a hassle, especially when I plan to go to one of Box Arena's casual Tuesday or special event.
