So...it's almost time for the big fights.
Jul. 3rd, 2012 02:27 pm So, tomorrow, I'm heading to Las Vegas to compete at EVO again.
I've only got practice in Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3. Still planning to rock it with Ghost Rider, Phoenix Wright, and Firebrand.
After dealing with Morrigan, she ended up becoming a new nightmare for me. I didn't think I'll have enough time to nail him down well enough, but I was thinking of using Dormammu as my Morrigan counterpick. I think he'll replace Ghost Rider if I have to go into Morrigan counter pick mode (Let's just say Dormammu has a problem with ). I don't intend for him to replace Ghost Rider, he's just there as a substitute if Morrigan becomes so much of a pain (i.e. Dormammu is an alt and only for the purpose of counter picking). But I'll have to see what I can do with what I know (i.e. my team).
I do feel better taking on Zero with Firebrand but I still have to keep a watch out for him
I did pick up some ways that managed to improve. I have to say It's interesting that from a lot of my Xbox Live sessions, I got plenty of "Good game" and praising messages (feels like it's because people aren't exactly expecting a team like mine to be played so decent). Of course, I'm not expecting to do some crazy comeback with Wright like with this game here.
On another note, I also heard about those TAC infinites, especially Magneto. I'm really going to need to keep my defenses up.
I did sign up for Super Street Fighter IV, King of Fighters XIII, and Soul Calibur V, but I feel like the best I can do is see how much I can cram in such short time. Guess I can say Marvel's still my main focus. That, and I've been sort of slacking off. I don't know if Netflix streaming is to blame, but yeah, for some reason, I got myself watching Angel Beats during the last weeks leading up to this. Sounds more like I might want to burn midnight oil while I'm over there to make up for it.
I also got my pool assignments and you can see the brackets here:
Super Street Fighter IV
Soul Calibur V
King of Fighters XIII
Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3
The most notable thing is that I'm in the same pool as Floe. It's reminding me how I encountered him during some PSN Ranked Match sessions back in February and I got a message that linked to the his stream channel (I even confirmed it when he was at the St. Valentine's Massacre event back in February too). All I really remembered was that there was a Frank West on the team and was probably doing the Nova combo to Frank West DHC thing to power him up.
Oh, and someone using the username, "Runaway Magneto" in the bracket? Yeah, that sounds like a red alarm there.

Some other things to note. Maximilian is actually going to have a panel over there. Funny enough, I could have gone to his previous panel since he held one at a small anime convention here in San Diego back in March (it was called Anime Conji). It's just getting me to remember that I've been thinking it would nice to see a convention on a smaller scale rather than say, Anime Expo, or (do I really need to say it?) San Diego Comic Con. Yeah, even if I would be there just to see the panel.
Oh, if you saw my Twitter or Facebook recently, you already saw this but I just have to share it one more time. Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 as if it was Pokémon Gold and Silver version. I'm willing to admit, it's pretty rough in areas (like Vergil's theme in 8-bit), but I definitely like it and I can give it an A for great effort.
If you remember when I talked about my trip last year, I said they would find ways to extort money and internet access is one thing. I'm probably going to stay offline for the weekend (though there may be a chance it won't be the case but not really). So, I'll probably be online again on Monday, where I'll be back in time for Comic Con.
One last thing...DIVEKICK! (Yes, the shouting was necessary)
